Green Energy Act Alliance presents Minister Smitherman with an honorary membership in the Windshare Co-operative
Smitherman accepts Windshare membership
Minister of Energy and Infrastructure George Smitherman accepts an honorary Windshare membership from members of the Green Energy Act Alliance, Mike Brigham, Deb Doncaster, and David Donnelly.

On a day that is notable for the passage of Ontario's Green Energy and Economy Act into law, members of the Green Energy Act Alliance presented Minister of Energy and Infrastructure George Smitherman with an honorary Windshare membership.  The Windshare co-op operates the wind turbine at Exhibition Place.

The Green Energy and Economy Act aims to improve conservation programs, promote investment in renewable energy projects through North America's first feed-in tariff program, and create green jobs. The Act is the cornerstone of the government's plan to put Ontario on a path towards reducing Ontario's greenhouse gas emissions, while becoming a leader in the emerging global renewable energy sector.  Read the press release below.
